As the Obama administration ponders arming Libyan Rebels, the danger and irony of such an action is not lost on American Patriots, who are opposed to more foreign interventionism. What is emerging cannot be minimized or disregarded. The evidence clearly points to an emerging theme of global Islamic jihad among the Libyan rebels, as it is also being noted among other uprisings throughout the region.

The fact that Iran made a special video educating their people about the imminent appearance of the Imam Mahdi, or the “last Imam” speaks volumes.

This is a moment when American lawmakers need to clear their heads and their resolve and put a stop to US involvement in a war which will eventually result in arming more Jihadists against Americans and the West. We have already done that once when earlier administrations armed and trained a young freedom fighter for the Afghan people named Osama Bin Laden in the 1980s.

Informed  observers who are not affiliated with a party, an agenda or a political strategy one way or the other can see that what is taking place now in the Mideast has a specific undercurrent. That undercurrent is flowing along ideological lines that pour straight into the existing  river of hatred for the west that has inspired the radical Islamic dream of global Jihad.

If the Obama administration continues to support the Libyan rebels with arms and more tactical and missile support, we will be inadvertently helping to pave the streets they will run on later as they eventually begin to unify their disparate dreams across the Mideast into one colossal united Islamic army with the goal of annihilating the West. THAT is exactly where this is all going.

It’s insanity for the Obama administration to be supporting what is taking place in Libya. This will come back to harm us in ways we cannot imagine at this time.

Here’s what one rebel fighter said who is a University student in Libya. My guess is that he is not alone in his sentiments.

“We want a society based on the Quran,” he said, speaking in the formal Arabic tones of a mosque preacher.

“Freedom of religion, we don’t want it,” he said. “We want the freedom to practice our religion, but we don’t want freedom for Jews and Christians and to have naked women and alcohol.”

Years from now when historians are trying to pick through the rubble of the third world war, looking for evidence of just exactly when and where it all started, they will be looking squarely in the eyes of the American decision makers in the Obama administration who chose to do the most catastrophically foolish thing in any modern American presidency, to choose to arm the very people whose ultimate goal in life is to destroy us, our civilization, our religion, our way of life and everything that we hold dear.

That’s where the accountability will lie after the great and final war is over.

This page may turn out to be one of the most important pieces of truth research that I have put on the web yet. Our federal government officials are lying to the American people about the so called “non-violent” and secular nature of the Muslim Brotherhood. Either our elected officials are literally stupid, or they are intentionally involved in a national disinformation and propaganda campaign in support of the MB and determined to mislead the American people about the nature of the MB and their threat to our country and other western nations. Watch this video below, which is a classic example of federal disinformation, then read every word on this page and send the page to everyone you know.

What is the Muslim Brotherhood? I will take a preliminary definition from a special report prepared in 2008 by Steven Emerson, the Executive Director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, from a report he wrote for the US Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs:

The Motto of the Muslim Brotherhood is:

Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”

The official definition of the MB from Wikipedia is full of contradictions and does not line up with the deeper story that American truth researchers are uncovering as the world watches what will take place next in Egypt. Since millions of Americans turn to Wikipedia as an authoritative source because they don’t know better, this essay will hopefully illuminate inquiring minds about just exactly how murky the roots of the MB’s modern movement really are.

The ongoing chaos in Egypt has not only riveted the world’s attention, it now presses the question: who and what will inherit the governance of Egypt after Mubarak? Nearly every American popular talk radio show – both left and right – that I have perused in the past ten days is trying to address this question. I am finding that American radio talk show hosts, are for the most part, fairly poorly informed about the deeper historical roots of radical Islam, and who and what “The Muslim Brotherhood” of today actually is. If you think the MB organization is moderate, peaceful and benign in their goals, you had better read this essay carefully, for you are about to get a wake up call.

A visit to the official Muslim Brotherhood English version website will quickly reveal that the uprising in Egypt has been tacitly fomented by their members, although technically the movement is banned in Egypt. Read the page which documents the MB’s current negotiations with the Egyptian government and there is little doubt left that the MB has had a major role in the Egyptian uprising. Any American Big Media statements to the contrary are indoctrinational positions and hold no truth.

I have compiled this essay for the struggling and misinformed Big Media TV American talking heads referenced above, for myself, and for all Americans who are now scrambling to see far enough into future probabilities to ponder what Egypt might look like under the rule of the Muslim Brotherhood, Wahhabi Islam and fundamentalist sharia law. No possibility is out of reach when chaos leaves open the doors of opportunity for those who would advance the cause of global jihad, using any and all means possible.

MB Media Spokesman: “We hope to take the country to stability, security and democracy, which can bring in the future prosperity, equality, justice and human dignity for all Egyptians.”

Hitler himself rose to power under just such circumstances in Germany in the early 1930s. The exact same fertile soil of rage, civil unrest, political turmoil and confusion, rioting, violence, and widespread public discontent now exists in Egypt:

=======================================================

Hitler’s Rise to Power: 1930-1933

http://www2.dsu.nodak.edu/users/dmeier/Holocaust/hitler.html
“The Nazis gradually devised an electoral strategy to win northern farmers and white collar voters in small towns, which produced a landslide electoral victory in September 1930 (jump from roughly 3% to 18% of the votes cast) due to the depression. Refused a chance to form a cabinet, and unwilling to share in a coalition regime, the Nazis joined the Communists in violence and disorder between 1931 and 1933. In 1932, Hitler ran for President and won 30% of the vote, forcing the eventual victor, Paul von Hindenburg, into a runoff election.

After a bigger landslide in July 1932 (44%), their vote declined and their movement weakened (Hitler lost the presidential election to WWI veteran Paul von Hindenburg in April; elections of November 1932roughly 42%), so Hitler decided to enter a coalition government as chancellor in January 1933. Upon the death of Hindenburg in August 1934, Hitler was the consensus successor. With an improving economy, Hitler claimed credit and consolidated his position as a dictator, having succeeded in eliminating challenges from other political parties and government institutions. The German industrial machine was built up in preparation for war. In November 1937, he was comfortable enough to call his top military aides together at the “Führer Conference,” when he outlined his plans for a war of aggression in Europe. Those who objected to the plan were dismissed.”

There is a historical relationship between the misdirected dark eugenics and so-called German racial purification doctrines of Hitler and the emerging philosophical evolution of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Read http://townhall.com/columnists/carolineglick/2011/02/04/israel_and_arab_democracy

The Muslim Brothers’ organizational prowess and willingness to use violence to achieve their aims was likely demonstrated within hours of the start of the unrest. Shortly after the demonstrations began, operatives from the Palestinian Muslim Brotherhood branch in Gaza – that is Hamas – knew to cross the border into Sinai. And last Thursday, a police station in Suez was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and firebombs.

Hamas has a long history of operations in Sinai.

It also has close ties with Beduin gangs in the area that were reportedly involved in attacking another police station in northern Sinai.

Western – and particularly American – willingness to pretend that the Muslim Brotherhood is anything other than a totalitarian movement has been greeted by disbelief and astonishment by Israelis from across the political spectrum.

A Pew Research Center opinion survey of Arab attitudes towards Jews from June 2009 makes this clear. Ninety-five percent of Egyptians, 97% of Jordanians and Palestinians and 98% of Lebanese expressed unfavorable opinions of Jews. Threequarters of Turks, Pakistanis and Indonesians also expressed hostile views of Jews.

Throughout the Arab and Muslim world, genocidal anti-Semitic propaganda is all-pervasive. And as Prof. Robert Wistrich has written, “The ubiquity of the hate and prejudice exemplified by this hard-core anti-Semitism undoubtedly exceeds the demonization of earlier historical periods – whether the Christian Middle Ages, the Spanish Inquisition, the Dreyfus Affair in France, or the Judeophobia of Tsarist Russia. The only comparable example would be that of Nazi Germany in which we can also speak of an ‘eliminationist anti- Semitism’ of genocidal dimensions, which ultimately culminated in the Holocaust.”

“That is why for most Israelis, the issue of how Arabs are governed is as irrelevant as the results of the 1852 US presidential elections were for American blacks. Since both parties excluded them, they were indifferent to who was in power.”

“One of the more troubling aspects of the Western media coverage of the tumult in Egypt over the past two weeks has been the media’s move to airbrush out all evidence of the protesters’ anti- SemitismThe fact that the one Jewish state stands alone against 23 Arab states and 57 Muslim states whose populations are united in their hatred of Jews necessarily requires a revision of the narrative. And so their hatred is ignored.”

In order to sift through the American Big Media spin regarding the MB, one must acknowledge that there is a now a double-sided looking-glass media environment in America, one which began to polarize during the George W. Bush era. Two distinct sets of national media outlets report two different and often distinctly clashing sets of facts on nearly every world and national event: the “left’s” version and world view vs. the “right’s” version and world view. Independent impartial reporting and actual journalism has all but disappeared.

This was made clear to me just the other day when I asked a close friend what she knew of, and thought about the “Muslim Brotherhood.” She immediately began quoting the “Democracy Now” website where she gets 90% of her news.

Somewhere along the way my friend had concluded that the Muslim Brotherhood was and still is a calm, peaceful, nonviolent law abiding moderate spiritual movement in the Mideast which advocates for peaceful unity of Muslims around the world. She knew nothing about their goal of global Jihad, of a world ruled by Mullahs under sharia law, and their desire to “die for Allah” as their highest life’s aspiration. How she came to this conclusion I will never know, but my gut and everything I have ever read about Wahhabi Islam screams that just the opposite is true about the Muslim Brotherhood. I would add that Hillary Clinton is in way over her head here.

The Muslim Brotherhood will and often does resort to violence to achieve their goals.

To understand the Muslim Brotherhood of 2011 we have to go all the way back to the early 20th century in 1902. The MB is rooted in the early 20th century redrafting of fundamentalist Wahhabi Islam, which was revived between 1902 and 1928 by an Islamic religious radical, a Wahhabi tribesman named Ibn Saud, who was intent on conquering and restructuring the immense land region and locale that we now know as Saudi Arabia.

Wahhabi Islam is a radical fundamentalist sect of Islam which was founded in the 18th century by Mohammad Ibn Addul Al-Wahhab. Wahhabism is based on the premise that any teachings added to Islam after the tenth century are false.

It is the most severe retrograde version of the Islamic faith, and is the driving force behind the modern radical Islamic global Jihad movement. Wahhabism envisions a global Islamic empire, ruled by Wahhabi Holy men, based on this strict and puritanical interpretation of tenth century Islamic teachings, with any other forms of law to become null and void. It is, to put it bluntly, a regression of all societal laws back to the tenth century’s understanding of the world and how it should be ruled.

During that period between 1902 and 1927 Saudi Arabia was terrorized by the newly resurrected “Wahhabi” Muslims seeking to enforce their version of radical Islam onto the surrounding tribes, villages and communities. Violence was commonplace. The Wahhabi religious extremists were eventually routed from Saudi Arabia, and many of them went into exile in Egypt in the early 1920s. That is the backdrop for how Egypt eventually became a hotbed of religious Islamic extremism which eventually set it’s sights on raising a global Jihad aimed at destroying America and the West.

In 1928 the Muslim Brotherhood was founded in Egypt. It’s goal was stated to eventually achieve global Islamic rule under strict Sharia Law. This would be done via global Jihad.

In Egypt the Muslim Brotherhood was organized by Hassan El Banna. Banna’s organization became the genesis for today’s Egyptian Jihadi and Hamas. The Muslim Brotherhood is most definitely rooted in Wahhabi Islam, the most radicalized, regressive and violent form of Islam.

One of the clearly stated goals of Wahhabi Islam is to rid the Mideast of all non-Arabs by whatever means necessary. This dark and racist eugenics doctrine advocating of the elimination of all non-Arabs from the Middle East is what gave the Nazi Storm Troopers a “goal in common” with the members of the 1930s and 40s era Muslim Brotherhood, and was the basis for their deepening bonds during World War II.

See http://www.danielpipes.org/comments/163591

“In the 1920’s there was a young Egyptian named al Bana. And al Bana formed this nationalist group called the Muslim Brotherhood. Al Bana was a devout admirer of Adolph Hitler and wrote to him frequently. So persistent was he in his admiration of the new Nazi Party that in the 1930’s, al-Bana and the MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD became a SECRET ARM OF NAZI INTELLIGENCE.

The Arab Nazis had much in common with the new Nazi doctrines. They hated Jews; they hated democracy; and they hated the Western culture. It became the official policy of the Third Reich to secretly develop the Muslim Brotherhood as the fifth Parliament, an army inside Egypt.

…We will not stop at this point [i.e., “freeing Egypt from secularism and modernity”], but will pursue this evil force to its own lands, invade its Western heartland, and struggle to overcome it until all the world shouts by the name of the Prophet and the teachings of Islam spread throughout the world. Only then will Muslims achieve their fundamental goal… and all religion will be exclusively for Allah.

http://www.mideastweb.org/Middle-East-Encyclopedia/hassan_al-banna.htm

Al-Banna was quite clear that his goal was not solely an anti-colonialist struggle in Egypt nor the refurbishment of Islam, but rather a world revolution that would establish Islam as the dominant religion of the entire world: (Habeck, Knowing the enemy p. 120)”

This eugenics philosophy is aimed directly at the elimination of Jews, the Jewish nation, and of Israel itself. Also included in this 1930s era ethnic cleansing plan of the Muslim Brotherhood was the elimination of all Americans and westerners. Most Americans are woefully uninformed about how severe the doctrines and beliefs of Wahhabi Islam really are. It is no different than what Hitler tried to do during World War II, with his stated aim of eliminating all Jews from the face of the earth.

As far as Wahhabi Islamic Jihadists are concerned, Israel has no right to exist whatsoever.

It goes without saying that the Muslim Brotherhood shares this Wahhabi sentiment. In fact, between 1933 and 2002, the Muslim Brotherhood united in premise and intention with the Third Reich.

In 1933 the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mohammad Amin al-Husayni, who also the Grand Mufti of the Islamic faith in Jerusalem, visited the Third Reich and was photographed frequently touring the SS Storm Trooper ranks with high ranking German SS officers. He spent World War II at Hitler’s side in Germany. [ See photos below. ]

It should be noted as well that in 1933 Nazi parties sprang up throughout the Arab world. Abdul Hammal Nasser was the Egyptian head of the Muslim Brotherhood in 1933. He went on to later become the President of Egypt. Egypt’s early 1930s political slogan: “One Folk, One Party One Leader” was a direct translation of a German Nazi political slogan.

Between 1939 and 1945, Syria’s version of the Muslim Brotherhood was known as “The Social Nationalist Party”, led by Anton Saada. Saada was also known as the “Syrian Fuhrer”.

The Nazi Muslim troops who were enthusiastically recruited by Mohammad Amin al-Husayni for Hitler were often referred to by members of the Third Reich as the “Cream of Islam.” This recruiting and raising of Muslim Nazi armies in the Mideast took place between 1939 and 1945.

[ Biographical data from Wikipedia glosses over Al-Husayni’s extensive Nazi Training, Nazi War Activities and his devotion to Adolf Hitler’s dream of exterminating the Jews ]

“Mohammad Amin al-Husayni (Arabic: محمد أمين الحسيني‎, often printed with the French transliteration al-Husseini,[1] 1895/1897 – July 4, 1974), a member of the al-Husayni clan of Jerusalem, was a Palestinian Arab nationalist and Muslim leader in the British Mandate of Palestine. In a report of recently declassified information by the American government and published in the National Archives, the British head of Palestine’s Criminal Investigation Division told an American military attaché that the Mufti might be the only person who could unite the Palestine Arabs and “cool off the Zionists.” [2]. From 1921 to 1948, he was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, and, as a virulent antisemite,[3][4][5] he played a key role in opposition to Zionism and a state for the Jews living in Palestine and collaborated with the Nazis[6].

As early as 1920, Al-Husayni was active in both opposing the British in order to secure the independence of Palestine as an Arab state and led violent riots against Jews [7] opposing the establishment of a National home for the Jewish people in Palestine. His oppositional role peaked during the 1936-1939 Arab revolt in Palestine. In 1937, wanted by the British, he fled Palestine and took refuge successively in the French Mandate of Lebanon, the Kingdom of Iraq, Fascist Italy and finally Nazi Germany. In Germany he met dictator Adolf Hitler in 1941.[8] He asked Hitler to back Arab independence and requested that Nazi Germany oppose, as part of the Pan-Arab struggle, the establishment of a Jewish national home in Palestine (the future creation of Israel).[9] The Muslim Mufti was paid “an absolute fortune” of 50,000 marks a month (when a German field marshal was making 25,000 marks a year).[2] According the the American report, al-Husayni energetically recruited Muslims for the SS, the Nazi Party’s elite military command, was promised that he would be installed as the leader of Palestine after German troops had driven out the British and exterminated the more than 350,000 Jews living there[10]. During the 1948 Arab-Israeli War he represented the Arab Higher Committee and opposed both the 1947 UN Partition Plan and King Abdullah’s ambitions for expanding Jordan by capturing parts of Palestine.

Husayni himself was allowed to flee after the war to Syria — he was in the custody of the French, who did not want to alienate Middle East regimes [4]. After the 1948 War and the subsequent Palestinian exodus, his claims to leadership were discredited in the eyes of some, and he was eventually sidelined by the Palestine Liberation Organization and lost most of his remaining political influence.[11] Al-Husayni died in Beirut, Lebanon in 1974.”

Al-Husayni was fervent in his devotion to the Nazi cause and imported Hitler’s Nazi doctrines and methodologies into Egypt and the Mideast by 1941.

He eventually became a wanted man and fled to Egypt to live in hiding. He was wanted in Great Britain and in Yugoslavia in 1944 for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Just in case the reader is not making these connections, let me make this clear. The man who founded the Arab League in 1944, who was instrumental in molding the Muslim Brotherhood was the same man, a top Muslim religious Mufti,  who also raised Nazi armies in the Mideast under Hitler’s direct guidance, and was both a radical Islamic Muslim, as well as a Muslim Nazi, who murdered via “ethnic cleansing” entire groups of Jews, gypsies and other ethnic minorities in the Mideast and Europe during WWII.

By now the reader should understand that there is a direct historical relationship between Wahhabi Islam, Nazi racial extermination and eugenics philosophies, the Muslim religious fanaticism of eliminating all non-Arab “infidels”, the formation of the original Arab League, the earlier formative years of the Muslim Brotherhood and the current stated goals and intentions of radical Islamic global Jihad. This is a toxic and murderous philosophical brew and there is no real or actual Godliness in it. Using the pretext of religious piety and false spiritual reasoning to justify the mass carnage which will eventuate from any “global jihad” is, in and of itself, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

Radical Islam via the Wahhabi sect’s present philosophical platform is a false religion, based  on hatred, misogyny, cruelty, barbarism, racism, and abhorrent ethnic cleaning. The fact that these beliefs are mandated by so called religious “law” aka “sharia law” is a clear example of cognitive dissonance and an oxymoron.  That is the same dark and misdirected doctrine of hate which became the philosophical platform which gave birth to both the Muslim Brotherhood in 1928, and to the original Arab League later, in 1944, right after the collapse of Hitler’s Nazi Germany.

It should be noted that Al-Husayni, although on the run by 1940, was elected “in Absentia” as the head of the Muslim Brotherhood in Jerusalem. He also played a pivotal role in the formation of the Arab League in 1944. Among the Arab League’s original stated goals were:

1) Racial ethnic cleansing of the Mideast

2) global Wahhabi Islamic rule under Sharia Law

3) the elimination from the Miseast of all non Arab races, primarily Jews and American / Westerners

4) The destruction of western civilization via global Jihad

The founding countries were Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen. Mohammad Amin al-Husayni was the President and Co-founder of the League in 1944.

{Above} The Formation of the Arab League in 1944

{Below} Nations who are currently heavily influenced by the Muslim Brotherhood’s doctrine of radical Islam:

After the war, the perpetration of Nazi doctrines by the Muslim Brotherhood continued unabated. Between 1949 and 1952 under the auspices of the alleged “Odessa Network” many fleeing Nazis joined the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and Syria. Nazi experts in the dissemination of SS style propaganda flooded into the government and armed forces of Egypt and Syria.

In 1948 a young Egyptian born Yasser Arafat joined the Muslim Brotherhood and from age 17 on Arafat was personally mentored and trained by Al-Husayni. Yasser Arafat is a name very familiar to baby boomers in my age group.

In later years Arafat’s radical PLO, the Palestinian Liberation Organization, waged incessant bloody guerrilla war and acts of terror upon Israel for over 20 years. These nonstop terror attacks and brutal suicide bombings plagued Israel throughout Arafat’s reign as head of the PLO. The bloodshed was practically nonstop. If you still have not made up your mind about the Muslim Brotherhood take a quick look back in time to the days of Yasser Arafat and you will recall the bloodbath which marked his leadership of the Palestinian people.

Mohammad Amin al-Husayni provided safe haven for these fleeing Nazis in Egypt. In America, Nazi war criminals were secretly provided safe haven in exchange for their rocketeering and other high technology skills under Operation Paperclip. This grisly and shameful action on the part of our government was only recently admitted, and created a media firestorm here and abroad.

Al-Husayni’s resume of diabolical evil in the name of Islam eventually became even more unbelievable after the war. He collaborated with Swiss banker Francois’ Genoud, who had handled banking crime for the Third Reich, and together they allegedly funded and financed activities of the Odessa Network in Egypt with funds that were plundered from prominent European Jewish families who had been murdered by the Nazis.

Every American who understands how high the stakes are in the Middle East should realize that the historical roots of today’s Muslim Brotherhood crossed paths with Hitler’s dream of world conquest nearly 80 years ago, and at that time the two philosophies converged in their shared hatred of the Jewish people and all non-Arabs. Racism is racism is racism. There are no other names for it. Political and so called spiritual movements which are founded on such racist doctrines are destined to generate violence by their inherent natures. Choosing to enter into negotiations with the Muslim Brotherhood is a dance with the devil that should not be undertaken under any circumstances. Once again our American leaders in the White House are failing the Will of the American people.

Historically, our country has NEVER negotiated with racist terrorists, and we have always been an ally to Israel. We are betraying our better natures, ourselves and Israel by considering any negotiations with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Egypt now fears Obama a ‘Manchurian President
‘They are trying to understand why he is acting against U.S. interests’

“Mubarak’s regime feels Obama is pushing the advancement of the Muslim Brotherhood against U.S. interests,” said WND’s Jerusalem bureau chief and senior reporter Aaron Klein. “They are genuinely trying to understand why Obama
is seemingly championing the anti-regime protests.”
Klein said that a top Egyptian diplomat with whom he has developed a rapport over the last few years asked him earlier this week to explain Obama’s motivation to support the opposition to Mubarak. “I told him none of this should be a surprise,” said Klein, “that the Obama administration has developed an extensive relationship over the last few years
with allies of the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Top members of the Egyptian government say they feel betrayed by President Obama, charging that he is acting against American interests.

“Mubarak’s regime feels Obama is pushing the advancement of the Muslim Brotherhood against U.S. interests,” said WND’s Jerusalem bureau chief and senior reporter Aaron Klein. “They are genuinely trying to understand why Obama is seemingly championing the anti-regime protests.”

Klein said that a top Egyptian diplomat with whom he has developed a rapport over the last few years asked him earlier this week to explain Obama’s motivation to support the opposition to Mubarak.

“I told him none of this should be a surprise,” said Klein, “that the Obama administration has developed an extensive relationship over the last few years with allies of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Get the comprehensive probe that exposes Obama’s Marxist, anti-American past – and present, in “Manchurian President.”

“That my investigating has proven that Obama has been closely associated throughout his political career with radical-left elements who have long petitioned for policies many believe are aimed at weakening the American enterprise both domestically and internationally.”

“The Egyptian diplomat seemed surprised,” said Klein. “I told him this material was thoroughly documented in my latest book.”

The diplomat requested 20 copies of Klein’s New York Times bestselling book investigating Obama, “The Manchurian President: Barack Obama’s ties to communists, socialists, and other anti-American extremists.”

The diplomat said he would deliver the book, which was co-authored by Brenda J. Elliott, to senior officials in Mubarak’s embattled government.

Obama in recent days urged Mubarak to give up power in Egypt, where the Muslim Brotherhood forms the main opposition.

Mubarak has been a staunch U.S. ally and a recipient of billions of dollars in military aid. His regime has long been considered a stabilizing force in the Arab world.

The Obama administration’s support for the unrest is strikingly reminiscent of Jimmy Carter’s support of the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979, which marked the birth of modern Islamist expansion.

(Story continues below)

Some Muslim clerics are already calling the riots in Egypt simply an extension of 1979’s Islamist conquests.

“Thirty-one years after the victory of the Islamic Republic, we are faced with the obvious fact that these movements are the aftershocks of the Islamic revolution,” said Iranian cleric Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, as reported by Iran’s Radio Zamaneh. “The fate of those who challenge [our] religion is destruction.”

Speaking of media and government leaders, Khatami added, “They want to highlight the labor, liberal and democratic issues, but the most important issue, which is the religious streak of these protests, [is] being denied.”

The leader of Jordan’s Muslim Brotherhood, Hammam Saeed, warned that the unrest in Egypt will spread across the Mideast until Arabs succeed at toppling leaders allied with the United States.

“The Americans and Obama must be losing sleep over the popular revolt in Egypt,” Saeed said at a sympathy protest held outside the Egyptian Embassy in Amman. “Now, Obama must understand that the people have woken up and are ready to unseat the tyrant leaders who remained in power because of U.S. backing.”

And on the Internet, the Middle East Media Research Institute reports, prominent Salafi cleric Abu Mundhir Al-Shinqiti issued a fatwa on the website Minbar Al-Tawhid Wal Jihad encouraging the protests in Egypt, claiming Islamist jihadis are now on the verge of a historic moment, an “earthquake” he likened to the Sept. 11 attacks in New York City.

Obama pushes Egyptian ‘reform’

According to a senior Egyptian diplomat speaking to WND, a former U.S. ambassador to Egypt, Frank Wisner, specifically told Mubarak on Tuesday the U.S. would not continue to support his rule and he must step down.

Hours later, Mubarak announced he would not seek another term in office.

The Obama administration dispatched Wisner to Egypt last weekend to report to the State Department and White House a general sense of the situation in the country.

WND broke the story yesterday that the Egyptian government has information Wisner secretly met earlier this week with a senior leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Issam El-Erian.

The Muslim Brotherhood seeks to spread Islam around the world, in large part using nonviolent means. Hamas and al-Qaida are violent Brotherhood offshoots.

Muslim Brotherhood declares war on U.S.

Prominent U.S. commentators also have been claiming the Muslim Brotherhood is a moderate organization and denying there is any Islamist plot to seize power.

Last Friday, President George W. Bush’s former press spokeswoman, Dana Perino, told Fox News, “Don’t be afraid of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. This has nothing to do with religion.”

Bruce Reidel, a former CIA analyst and adviser to President Obama, wrote a Daily Beast article in which he claimed, “The Egyptian Brotherhood renounced violence years ago. … Its relative moderation has made it the target of extreme vilification by more radical Islamists.”

Reidel’s assertion the Brotherhood renounced violence, however, is contradicted by its own statements in recent months, including a call to arms against the West.

In November, the Brotherhood’s new supreme guide, Muhammad Badi, delivered a sermon entitled “How Islam Confronts the Oppression and Tyranny.”

“Resistance is the only solution,” stated Badi. “The United States cannot impose an agreement upon the Palestinians, despite all the power at its disposal. [Today] it is withdrawing from Iraq, defeated and wounded, and is also on the verge of withdrawing from Afghanistan because it has been defeated by Islamist warriors.”

Badi went on to declare the U.S. is easy to defeat through violence, since it is “experiencing the beginning of its end and is heading toward its demise.”

Barry Rubin, director of the Global Research in International Affairs Center, noted Badi’s speech showed “the likelihood that more Brotherhood supporters in the West will turn to violence and fund-raising for terrorism.”

Frank Gaffney, president of the American Center for Security Policy, takes it a step further.

“In short, the Muslim Brotherhood – whether it is operating in Egypt, elsewhere in the world or here – is our enemy,” he wrote.

Obama quietly builds ties to Muslim Brotherhood

Klein reported for WND yesterday that Obama and top administration officials have troubling relationships with the Muslim Brotherhood and its worldwide allies.

Muslim Brotherhood members were reportedly invited to attend Obama’s 2009 address to the Muslim world from Cairo. Khaled Hamza, editor of the Muslim Brotherhood website, confirmed at the time that 10 members of the Brotherhood’s parliamentary bloc received official invitations to attend Obama’s historic speech.

Also in 2009, the Egyptian daily newspaper Almasry Alyoum ran a report claiming Obama had met with U.S. and European-based representatives of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood that year

According to the report, the Brotherhood members requested that news of the meeting not be publicized. They expressed to Obama their support for democracy and the war on terror.

The newspaper also reported Brotherhood members communicated to Obama their position that they would abide by all agreements Egypt has signed with foreign countries, implying that if they took power in Egypt they would continue that country’s peace treaty with Israel.

Besides contact with the Muslim Brotherhood itself, there have been reports the past two years of behind-the-scenes contact with Hamas, which was founded as an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. Hamas maintains a close alliance with the Brotherhood; the Brotherhood’s new leader, Muhammad Badi, serves as a de facto lead spiritual guide for Hamas.

Top leaders of Hamas in Gaza claimed to WND several times they passed messages to Obama through dignitaries who visited the Gaza Strip, including Jimmy Carter and Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., – both of whom have a close relationship with the White House.

Kerry, for example, reportedly accepted a letter for Obama from Hamas leaders in Gaza during a February 2009 visit to U.N. installations in the coastal territory.

U.N. relief agency chief in Gaza Karen Abu Zayd told the BBC the Hamas letter had been received by his agency and passed on to an unnamed American official.

In November, 2008, WND first quoted Hamas officials stating they would be sending a letter to Obama.

Immediately after that month’s elections, Ahmed Yousef , Hamas’ chief political adviser in Gaza, called Obama’s win a “historic victory” for the world and told WND that Hamas was sending a letter of congratulation to the president-elect.

Obama ties to Brotherhood’s U.S. allies

It is not just Obama’s reported contacts with the Muslim Brotherhood and the group’s allies in the Middle East that are of concern.

The Obama administration also has evidenced a working relationship with several U.S.-based Islamist organizations that are listed by the Brotherhood as “likeminded” organizations.

One such group is the Islamic Society of North America, or ISNA, a radical Muslim group that was an unindicted co-conspirator in a scheme to raise money for Hamas.

ISNA was named in a May 1991 Muslim Brotherhood document – “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America” – as one of the Brotherhood’s likeminded “organizations of our friends” who shared the common goal of transforming countries into Muslim nations.

The White House relationship with ISNA began even before Obama took office. One week before the presidential inauguration, Sayyid Syeed, national director of the ISNA Office for Interfaith and Community Alliances, was part of a delegation that met with the directors of Obama’s transition team. The delegation discussed a request for an executive order ending “torture.”

ISNA President Ingrid Mattson represented American Muslims at Obama’s inauguration, where she offered a prayer during the televised event.

Mattson also has represented ISNA at Obama’s annual Ramadan dinners, including the last such event in which Obama announced support for the rights of Muslims to build an Islamic cultural center and mosque two blocks from the site of the 9/11 attacks.

In June 2009, Obama’s top aide, Valerie Jarrett, invited Mattson to work on the White House Council on Women and Girls, which Jarrett leads.

That July, the Justice Department sponsored an information booth at an ISNA bazaar in Washington, D.C.

Also that month, Jarrett addressed ISNA’s 46th annual convention. According to the White House, Jarrett attended as part of Obama’s outreach to Muslims.

ISNA sponsored a February 2010 question-and-answer session in which Obama’s top adviser on counter-terrorism, John Brennan, came under fire for controversial remarks to Muslim law students.

Until acts of animalistic barbarism like the one described in the www.salon.com article below become a thing of the past, the world we live in is doomed to remain in servitude to the violence erupting within it’s own species toward the sacred beings who bear it’s children.

Any man who would do this to his spouse for simply wanting to further her education is not a man; in fact he is not even rising to the dignity of a wild animal. Even animals living in the wild with their chosen mates to not act out this kind of insane senseless violence onto them. This so called man should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Perhaps he should pay by losing his face as well. “Losing face” now portends a much darker meaning, having read this piece. How utterly sickening that in our day and age, with machines now trolling the surface of mars for photos and scientific evidence, that so called men back on earth still splash acid in the faces of spouses who desire an education. How far we all have to go, as a species, for this kind of deranged violence against women to end. How disheartening.

This article ia a gut wrenching example of why radical Islam must never be allowed to take root in the civilized west. it does not matter if the wealthier upper crust of the Islamic world can now build cities reaching to the sky; it does not matter if they pump ten quadrillion barrels of oil per day to sell to the west. If even just a few radical Islamic men are still acting out such acts of evil barbarity on their own spouses, there remains NO CIVILIZED LIFE emerging  from radical Islamic countries. If it has been done to her, then spiritually speaking, then it has been done to the entire species.

This violence against women must end. All acts of reckless violence and life killing savagery against women must end, and it must end now.

I have never been made so sick in my life as I was to have to read this essay. But if we do not speak out, and speak out strongly, against vicious acts of hatred like this, the world will never ascend out of it’s genetically regressive tendencies to desecrate the very beings who give and nurture life and allow for the world to have a population at all.

When you attack any woman with hatred and violence, you are doing no less than attacking yourself, your own future, and the very future of the species itself.

New laws must be created bringing forth the harshest penalties possible against those who believe that their own spouse is so worthless that she deserves to be splashed inthe face with acid for desiring, and rightly so, to educate herself and expand her knowledge. God (Allah) bestowed intelligence upon humankind because the fundamental human urge to know more is a gift from God. Without that urge, your spouse would still be foraging for herbs and small game and feeding it all to you raw.The urge to learn, to know more, is the fundamental driving force that civilizes and inspires the species to move forward into unknown intellectual territory. I can assure the reader that the woman who endured this is a much more civilized being than the evil animal male that did this to her. In God’s grand universe, eventually final  justice will be done. I can assure you that.

This was an act of pure evil. The man who perpetrated it needs to pay. The criminal justice systems in these countries will be held spiritually accountable if they allow this man to walk free, while his wife lies in a bed with her face burned off for wanting to read a book.

Where Have All the Women Gone?A manifesto against gender apartheid.

By Johann HariUpdated Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at 7:16 AM ET

Half the Sky by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. As soon as I started reading this cry against the global wasting of women’s lives, I could smell Shahnaz‘s face—what was left of it—again. By the time I met her in a hospital in Bangladesh, Shahnaz’s face flesh was a mess of charred meat: Her skin, the soft tissue of her cheeks, and the bones beneath had been burned away. Her nose was gone, replaced by two flared holes. Her lips hung down over her chin like melted wax. Her left eyelid couldn’t close, so a trail of tears was forever slowly tracking down over the wounds. Shahnaz was 21 years old, and her husband had just thrown acid in her face.

Her “crime”? To insist on continuing her studies—she loved science and poetry—when her husband wanted her to have babies. She smelled of a day-old barbecue left out in the rain.

In much of the world today, it is Shahnaz, not her husband, who would be judged to be in the wrong. For them, a woman is there to be a servile baby machine, and if she refuses, she can be beaten, raped, or burned with impunity. New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof and his Chinese-American wife, Sheryl WuDunn, have written an impassioned exposé of this subjugation—and a roadmap to equality.

They start with an extraordinary fact that shows how deep this abuse runs. Today, now, more than 100 million women are missing. They have vanished. In normal circumstances, women live longer than men—but China has 107 males for every 100 females in its overall population, India has 108, and Pakistan has 111. Where have these women gone? They have been killed or allowed to die. Medical treatment is often reserved for boys, while violence against women is routine. More girls are killed in this “gendercide” each decade than in all the genocides of the 20th century. This year, another 2 million girls will “disappear.”

But this isn’t considered a story. While we rightly roared at racial apartheid, we act as though gender apartheid is a natural, immutable fact. With absolutely the right Molotov cocktail of on-the-ground reporting and hard social science, Kristof and WuDunn blow up this taboo. They ask: What would we do if we believed women were equal human beings, with as much right to determine their life story as men? How would we view the world differently?

We would start by supporting the millions of women who are fighting back. This isn’t merely a story of victims; it is predominantly a story of heroines. Mukhtar Mai is a 37-year-old woman who was born to a peasant family in southern Punjab, Pakistan. She was never sent to school because there were no schools for girls in her area: Why would girls need to read? In July 2002, her younger brother was kidnapped and gang raped by a higher-status clan. In order to cover up the crime, the gang accused him of having raped one of “their” girls. A tribal council heard the case and found him guilty—and ruled that, as punishment, his sister Mukhtar should be gang raped.

After she was dragged into a barn and raped by four men in turn, Mukhtar was supposed to kill herself to remove the “shame” from her family. As she explains: “They know that a woman humiliated in that way has no other recourse but suicide. They don’t even need to use their weapons. Rape kills her.”

But Mukhtar did something a woman wasn’t supposed to do: She went to the police and demanded justice. Unusually, the police arrested the attackers. Pakistani dictator Pervez Musharraf heard about the case and sent $8,300 in compensation. She used it to build a school for girls, saying it was the only way to start eroding the attitudes that led to her rape. But once she started speaking out—saying rape was a systemic problem in rural Pakistan—Musharraf declared that she was “embarrassing” Pakistan and had the secret services order her to shut up. She refused—so she was placed under house arrest and then kidnapped by Musharraf’s goons.

Even then, Mukhtar wouldn’t give up. She got word out to her supporters—and they ensured that she was released. Her campaign is working. As Kristof and WuDunn explain, “Rape is no longer a penalty-free sport, and so it seems to have declined considerably in the Punjab.” Thanks to her, thousands of girls are in school, and tens of thousands now will not be raped.

It’s a humbling story in a book full of humbling stories. An illiterate woman from a middle-of-nowhere village stood up to her country’s president and security services, in the name of the most basic human value of all, equality—and she won. It forces you to ask: What have I done, with almost none of the odds stacked against me that Mukhtar had?

Perhaps that sounds depressing. But on the contrary, Kristof and WuDunn’s book is empowering for the reader. It shows that, while there is a mountain of misogyny to be climbed, it is being ascended, woman by woman, day by day. The authors are constantly pointing readers toward practical things they can do, from giving to the best charities to volunteering for Mukhtar’s schools in Pakistan.

They take the reader on a grand tour of all the issues that are ignored because women are ignored. For example—who has heard of fistula? It is today’s leprosy, causing 2 million women to live and die as despised outcasts—yet it is virtually unknown. When a woman has a long, obstructed labor with no doctors to help her deliver, the blood supply to her vagina, bladder, and rectum can be cut off. The tissues die, and a hole is ripped in her flesh. From that hole, shit and piss will leak for the rest of her life in one long incontinent streak. Because she stinks, she is rejected by her husband and her community, and forced to live scavenging on the streets.

In every African town, you see fistula-stricken women, wandering aimlessly, their heads down in shame. They are the saddest people I have ever met. But this problem is cruelly easy to treat. For $300, a fistula can be repaired in 90 percent of cases. Fistula can be beaten, if only we value women enough to do it. There used to be a fistula hospital in Manhattan. Today, it is the Waldorf-Astoria.

Or how about the enslavement of women in brothels, which is now far larger than the trans-Atlantic slave trade at its height? Some 3.5 million women are being jailed, drugged, and raped for cash today. This brutalization of women doesn’t have to happen any more than the enslavement of Africans did in the 18th century. As the authors write: “The tools to crush modern slavery exist, but the political will is lacking. That must be the starting point of any abolitionist movement.” International pressure—set in motion by the acts of ordinary citizens—works.

In a book that comes close to being a masterpiece of modern journalism, it’s sad—and a little squalid—that Kristof has allowed a discredited cause from his columns to crawl into its pages. He has long defended sweatshops, where by definition women are forced to work near-impossible hours for a pittance. He does so again here, writing: “Sweatshops have given women a boost. … Women and girls still stream to such factories because they’re preferable to hoeing fields all day back in a village. … Instead of denouncing sweatshops, we in the West should be encouraging manufacturing in poor countries.”

But Kristof surely knows that it is a false choice between having poor women hoeing the fields and having them working in dangerous conditions in factories. There is a third—and better—way. Anti-sweatshop campaigners—who he has explicitly chided—want all factories, everywhere, to adhere to certain minimum standards: No use of beatings, a maximum working day, safety precautions. Then they won’t be sweatshops; they’ll just be factories.

Whenever he is confronted with this argument, Kristof says that any country that imposes basic human conditions on sweatshops loses its trade to a country that won’t and women suffer. But this ignores an obvious truth: Anti-sweatshop campaigners want to see these rules imposed everywhere. There should be no escape clauses and no places where multinational corporations can go to cheaply abuse women for a few extra pennies of profit. Given his genuine disgust at the abuse of women elsewhere, it’s bewildering that he endorses it in this form—and as a species of feminism, too!

There is another, more subtle flaw with this book. The Kristof journalistic template is plain: He finds individual heroines in countries ignored by the United States who personify both the problem and the fight-back against it. He then tries to marshal U.S. public opinion and, in turn, U.S. governmental power behind it. It’s effective—but he uses it only when the victims are marginal to the bigger goals of American power. The U.S. government has no interest in maintaining the sex trade, or fistula, so it is relatively straightforward to enlist its support in eradication efforts.

But when it comes to crimes of commission by the United States, rather than of omission, this formula falters. One of the worst places in the world to be a woman is Saudi Arabia, where you can be imprisoned for trying to drive a car and lashed for being raped. Perhaps the very worst is Afghanistan, where—outside the Potemkin village of Kabul—women are almost invariably imprisoned in their homes and used as property-cattle in private fiefdoms run by warlords.

Yet woman-lashing Saudi Arabia is the closest U.S. ally in the region (along with Israel), and woman-crushing Afghanistan is actually occupied by the United States. The rights of women are being casually sold out in exchange for oil, military expediency, and hard geopolitics. U.S. citizens have the most responsibility for this, because it’s your government doing it—but Kristof and WuDunn choose not to focus on these places, skimming over them briskly. The closest they get to condemning a U.S. ally is the fragile regime of Musharraf, who was already widely criticized within elite U.S. circles and has subsequently been junked for a more pliable puppet. To assume the U.S. government could easily become a nuclear-armed Amnesty International if only its citizens would ask it more assertively is dangerously naive. It overlooks the massive structural changes that need to happen at home—like kicking America’s oil addiction—before the United States can consistently support women’s rights everywhere.

Even with these stains, Half the Sky—named after the Chinese proverb: “Women hold up half the sky”—remains a thrilling manifesto for advancing freedom for hundreds of millions of human beings. Yet many people who should be buying this book and supporting the women it describes are inhibited by the fear that it would be “cultural imperialism.” Isn’t it their culture to treat women differently? Who are we to judge?

This is historically illiterate. Cultures can change. It was the “culture” of Massachusetts to burn witches once; it was the “culture” of Alabama to enslave black people. A century ago, China was the worst place in the world to be a woman. Your feet would be bound into gnarled, bloody stumps. Often, you weren’t even given a name, just called “Daughter No. 4.” For all its flaws, China has left these bloody bandages far behind it. “If culture were immutable,” the authors say bluntly, “Sheryl would be stumbling along on three inch feet.”

This argument collapses even further into The Chasm of Lousy Excuses for Inaction when you speak to the women themselves. It wasn’t Shahnaz’s culture to have her face burned off or Mukhtar’s to be gang raped. No—it was the culture of their oppressors. Slaves do not love their chains; women do not love to be subordinated. There is a conflict within these cultures—and we must now pick a side or sit out the great civil rights battle of our time.
